We’re pleased to share our latest on-site video update from the Alveston eco homes development, presented by Andrew Minto as the project moves into its final stages.
This month’s walkthrough shows the development transitioning from a construction site into completed homes, with landscaping, driveways and final internal works bringing the whole scheme together.
With lawns laid, driveways formed and the nature corridor taking shape, the site now gives a clear picture of what the finished homes and surroundings will feel like.
Located near Bristol, the Alveston development consists of two high-spec, low-energy eco bungalows designed with sustainability, biodiversity and long-term energy efficiency in mind.
What’s Covered in the March Update Video
March has focused on final internal works, external landscaping and commissioning the homes’ systems as the development approaches completion.
In the video, Andrew walks through several key updates, including:
- Final preparation works to driveways and landscaped areas
- Electric gates being installed at the site entrance
- East Haven now fully completed internally, cleaned and ready for viewings
- West Haven nearing completion, including herringbone flooring throughout
- Underfloor heating connected and fully operational
- Turf laid across the lawns, transforming the external setting
- The nature corridor progressing, with ponds and a hibernaculum installed to support biodiversity
Together, these elements mark the transition from build phase to completed development, with both the homes and their surroundings now coming together as a finished scheme.

Development Timeline – Alveston Eco Bungalows
The Alveston development of two eco bungalows has progressed steadily from early groundworks through to completion over the past 18 months, with several key construction and sustainability milestones along the way:
- Late 2024 – Groundworks began and site services installed
- Early 2025 – Foundations, beam and block floors and substructure completed
- Spring 2025 – Brickwork and structural walls completed
- Summer 2025 – Roof structures completed and photovoltaic solar panels installed
- Autumn 2025 – First fix electrics, insulation, plastering and underfloor heating installation
- Winter 2025 – Kitchens, bathrooms, flooring and internal finishes completed
- January 2026 – Air-source heat pumps commissioned and heating systems operational
- Early 2026 – Driveways, landscaping, electric gates and boundary works completed
- Spring 2026 – Nature corridor, ponds and biodiversity areas established as the project approaches completion
This timeline reflects the full journey from groundworks through to completed eco homes, illustrating how the structural build, internal fit-out, renewable energy systems and landscaping all come together over the course of a development.
Designed as Eco Homes for Modern Living
Sustainability has been central to the Alveston eco bungalows from the outset.
The homes have been designed to combine modern living with long-term energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.
Key eco features of the homes include:
- Air-source heat pumps
- Underfloor heating throughout
- Photovoltaic solar panels
- High levels of insulation and energy efficiency
- Nature corridor and biodiversity areas
- Green Belt location with landscaped surroundings
The nature corridor, ponds and wildlife areas form an important part of the site design, helping to increase biodiversity while creating a natural setting around the homes.
Developments of eco bungalows built to this specification are relatively rare in the UK, particularly in small, carefully designed schemes like this.
Interest as the Project Nears Completion
As the development moves into its final stages, we’ve been pleased to welcome several visitors to the site, giving them the opportunity to see the quality of construction, the setting, and the sustainability features that have been incorporated into the project.
Seeing a project at this stage often helps people fully understand how all the elements – design, landscaping and environmental features – come together in the finished homes.
Are You a Landowner Considering Development?
Many Landhaven projects begin through conversations with landowners who want to understand whether development could unlock additional value from their land or property.
If you own land or property and would like to explore your options, we’re always happy to have an initial conversation and provide a free, no-obligation appraisal.
What’s Coming Next
Over the coming weeks, work will continue on final external works, finishing touches and preparing the homes for completion. We look forward to sharing another update soon as the Alveston development reaches completion.
For now, we hope you enjoy Andrew’s March video update and walkthrough of the site
