We’re pleased to share our latest on-site video update from the Alveston eco bungalow development, filmed in December and presented by Andrew Minto.
This month’s walkthrough captures a clear sense of momentum across the site, with meaningful progress both inside and outside the homes. As the project moves confidently toward completion, December marks a phase where services, finishes, and landscaping all begin to come together.
For those new to the project, Alveston began with a collaborative journey alongside the Gardner family, who entrusted us with land that held deep personal significance and came with complex planning considerations. Their story, and how we helped unlock long-term value, can be read here: How Landhaven Helped the Gardner Family Unlock Land Value
What’s Covered in Andrew’s December Update
December has been a month of visible, practical progress, signalling a transition from core build stages toward final delivery.
In the video, Andrew walks through several key developments, including:
- Completion of front groundworks, with levels carefully reduced through rocky ground to form the new parking area
- Installation of key services and utilities across the site
- Kitchen installations now underway, featuring shaker-style units with a calm country feel, finished in green and gold tones
- Continued underfloor heating installation in East Haven, including a look at the insulation that supports the homes’ strong energy performance
- Early stages of final landscaping to the rear, including lawn areas and the formation of a nature corridor with native planting
Together, these elements show the homes moving beyond construction and into their finished form. You can explore the full background to the scheme on our Alveston Eco Bungalows project page.
How the Project Has Progressed Over Time
December’s progress builds naturally on the steady evolution of the development throughout the year:
- Spring established the structural foundations and overall form of both bungalows
- Summer saw roofing, internal partitions, first-fix services, and the installation of photovoltaic solar panels, reinforcing the project’s low-energy design
- Autumn brought insulation, sprinkler systems, plasterboard, screeding, and underfloor heating, preparing the homes for final finishes
- Winter is now delivering kitchen installations, completed services, and the landscaped setting that will frame the finished homes
December represents a point where all of these phases begin to overlap – interiors advancing while the external environment takes shape alongside them.
Designed for Low-Energy Living
Sustainability continues to sit at the heart of the Alveston development. December’s update highlights how environmental considerations are being delivered in practice, not just in design.
From underfloor heating throughout the homes to biodiversity-led landscaping, the scheme has been shaped to balance modern living with long-term environmental responsibility. The rear nature corridor, native planting, and lawn areas are designed to support local wildlife while creating a calm, green outlook for future residents.
